Major Traffic Delays on I-95 After Multiple Truck Incidents
On Sunday, Connecticut firefighters and emergency responders were dispatched to three separate truck accidents on Interstate 95, resulting in extensive traffic delays throughout the day. One of the incidents involved a tractor-trailer that veered off the roadway, requiring a rescue operation for the driver.
The series of unrelated accidents occurred in quick succession during the morning hours, with three trucks jack-knifing on I-95 amid heavy rainfall. The accidents were reported at 7:31 a.m., 9:32 a.m., and 10:06 a.m., according to the fire department.
In the most serious of the crashes, a tractor-trailer went over the side of the road near Exit 2, leading to the closure of the southbound lanes for an extended period. Emergency responders successfully extricated the driver from the cab. Fortunately, the driver did not require hospitalization.
Despite the hazardous conditions, no major injuries were reported. However, one individual was transported to the hospital following the third accident, according to Fire Chief Lubowicki.
